Full Moon in Libra and Total Lunar Eclipse
The energy of the full moon is going to immediately be shaped by the Total Lunar Eclipse that will occur at 12:47 AM PST. The eclipse should be visible by those living in Australia, the Pacific, and the United States of America.
Typically, the energies of Libra are centered around balance, harmony, and peacekeeping. In addition, Mars is stuck in Retrograde and forced to behave more diplomatically as he bides his time sitting in the sign of Libra. However, the energy is repressed, and the Total Lunar Eclipse is going to allow an opportunity for the energy to find an escape valve.
In addition, as soon as the Full Moon peaks, the moon will enter "void of course" and will exist outside of any sign until she enters Scorpio at 9:20 AM. During that time, we should avoid setting intentions or focusing on manifesting.
The full moon heightens emotional energy and often results in behaviors that can appear extreme at the time. Often, the emotions reflect something deeper, but the intensity of the full moon can blind one to what those issues are. Think of the Total Lunar Eclipse as dimming down the bright light of the full moon, so you can focus on what issues you can see lying before you. The truth that is revealed there will be extremely difficult to deny.
So what will be illuminated? Put simply, your relationships. Or, perhaps more correctly, the condition of your boundaries, as they exist now, with others. You will see how your decisions are affecting others--good and bad. You will see how the decisions of others are affecting you. And, if you can allow yourself to look even closer, you will see the reasons behind these decisions.
There is a big stir over this lunar eclipse because it will be one of four that will occur between now and 2015. Some are perceiving these eclipses with fear and foreboding referring to them as "blood moons" and seeing biblical significance in their interpretation. At the very least, the energy will feel unsettling, and then the energy will seep into the next ominous placement.
Cardinal Grand Cross
Uranus in Aries, Mars in Libra, Pluto in Capricorn, Jupiter in Cancer
A Grand Cross is one of the most stressful planetary placements you can find in astrology because there is no immediate way to release the energy. Imagine Uranus, Mars, Pluto, and Jupiter as people standing in a room in a perfect square formation with each at a corner. Next, imagine that each of them is holding holding a gun and aiming at one another. No one can fire because they risk being fired upon. Instead, they simply point their guns threateningly and the tension continues to rise in the room until something stupid happens.
Or, if you want a more comical analogy, imagine you and three friends have been dieting for six months and have successfully avoided sugar, dairy, and gluten. You are finishing a healthy meal at a nice restaurant, and you unexpectedly are given a piece of chocolate cake with vanilla ice-cream free of charge because you mentioned to the waiter you were celebrating your youngest friend's birthday. All four of you hungrily eye the cake and yet refuse to make a move unless someone else does. However, you know you have to do something before the restaurant closes, so you watch intently on who will break first. Same principle applies.
A Grand Cross can be in Cardinal signs (Aries, Libra, Cancer, Capricorn), Mutable signs (Sagittarius, Gemini, Pisces, Virgo), or Fixed signs (Leo, Aquarius, Scorpio, Taurus). When a Grand Cross is in a Cardinal formation, problems will emerge with where the energies are going. Cardinal signs are associated with movement and direction, and when they are locked in Grand Cross, the movement and direction becomes chaotic and/or destructive. Some who take a more serious tone with the placement have described possibilities such as natural disasters or violence. At the very least, we will find ourselves faced with planets who are stubbornly focused on their agendas.
Uranus is in the fiery sign Aries. Uranus calls for revolution of ideas and thoughts, and Aries likes to fight. You might find your own beliefs, thoughts, and perspectives being bluntly challenged. The process can be painful, and you might think you are experiencing a kind of death. However, the wisdom of Uranus reminds us nothing truly dies--it only changes form.
Mars is still angrily sitting in Retrograde in the sign of peace loving Libra. However, with the Grand Cross, Mars is hoping to get some of his pent up anger out. If others strike first, then he will feel justified in acting in kind. This is a reminder for all of us. We might be struggling to hold back our own angry or hostile feelings, so finding a way to release or express feelings diplomatically will be even more important. Otherwise, you risk allowing Mars to have his way and those feelings will emerge like a tornado and leave a destructive wake.
Pluto is in the sign of authoritative Capricorn, which is another uncomfortable placement. Capricorn is the capable leader of the zodiac, but Pluto demands Capricorn look at the unrest her leadership is causing. Power struggles will be the theme here, and people will naturally feel a desire to speak out against perceived authority figures. If you are in a position of leadership, make sure you listen carefully to those you are leading or you might find yourself dealing with unfortunate repercussions later. You might also question your own decision and choices as well as the role you want to play in your own future.
Jupiter is floating in retrograde in the nurturing waters of Cancer. Normally, Jupiter might add a touch of luck to the abundance Cancer can provide to the hungry and emotionally weary. Subsequently, there could be a real and/or imagined lack of sustaining resources for the heart and stomach. You might see this manifest in the people you are helping either personally or professionally.
Libra is repressing the anger of Mars in order to maintain peace. Aries is fighting the cause of Uranus in order to change ideas. Cancer is facing the misfortune of Jupiter in order to feed the weary. Capricorn is resisting the demands of Pluto in order to maintain power. These energies have the capacity to spark a revolution--whether large or small.
