New Moon in Gemini - May 28th, 2014 at 11:40 AM PST

The New Moon in Gemini is setting the stage for some interesting possible manifestations. Both the sun and the moon are currently in the sign of Gemini, which gives the qualities of Gemini a bit of a boost in significance. In addition, the sun and moon are squaring Neptune (planet of illusions, healing, and spirituality) in the sign of Pisces (Neptune's patron sign) in the sixth house (house of service, work, and physical wellness).

Translation: time to dispel harmful illusions and fantasies.

If you are experiencing problems with your health, your job, or feeling fulfilled by your life, then you might want to look closely at what you believe to be true--especially what you believe about yourself. The sun represents who you are and the moon represents how you feel. These aspects of you are being clouded by the kaleidoscope of realities reflected by Neptune. However, just like any mirror, Neptune often reflects back our own secret thoughts and beliefs in order for us to confront them and decide if change is required. Reality is based on subjective experiences  more often than not, and there is a fine line between spiritual transcendence and self-destructive escapism.

Grand Water Trine - Chiron in Pisces (6th House), Jupiter in Cancer (10th House), Saturn in Scorpio (3rd House)

To further illuminate the tension between Neptune and the Sun and Moon, we have a Grand Water Trine. A Grand Trine is a freely flowing trinity of planetary energy. The influence can help generate resources and/or create a sense of ease. Interestingly, Chiron is in the same house as Neptune, which could indicate that in order to fully resolve any unhealthy illusions, you must focus on a specific wound that is crying out for healing. Once again, the wound is likely to involve work, physical health, and/or environment, but the wound is likely causing emotional issues. For example, problems at work could be creating feelings of depression, or neglecting your body could be creating mood swings. However, Gemini is all about creating connections and resources in order to further one's path, so if you are looking to make changes, then this is the right time.

Translation: how is your job, physical health, and environment impacting your sense of who you are and what you feel?

Your thoughts and beliefs likely need to change if you are noticing disturbances. This placement is not about blaming others or outside forces, but rather taking a hard look at whether or not your perceptions are accurate and conducive to a happy life. If you are encountering obstacles, then take time to see what might need your attention in order for you to resume making progress.

Conclusion: In order to live the life you want, you must confront your inner demons and challenge false beliefs about yourself and the world.

Remember, the nice thing about illusions is that they vanish the very instant you try to touch them. Challenge yourself to put your beliefs to the test and work through the fear. Act in accordance with who you truly are and what you truly feel.

Concise Considerations:

1. Intentions focused on healing wounds originating from your job, your body, and/or your environment would be recommended.
2. Intentions focused on improving communication would be recommended.
3. Intentions focused on creating a new job would be recommended.
4. Intentions focused on improving physical wellness would be recommended.
5. Intentions focused on modifying your environment (i.e., friendships, home, community) would be recommended.

Full Moon in Scorpio - May 14th, 2014 at 12:16 PM PST

Ah Scorpio. One of the most notorious signs of the zodiac. I remember when the concept of the sidereal zodiac was everywhere in the news, and many people were shocked to learn that they were actually a different astrological sign. Although this branch of astrology is not new, the media treated the information like astrology was never going to be the same. Some people were happy with their "new" sign, and others were upset. Frequently, those born under the sign of Scorpio were the most resistant to thinking they were a different sign. Why? Regardless of the many negative connotations associated with Scorpio, people are drawn to the mysterious, sexual, and transformative qualities of the sign. Scorpio is powerful, but his or her true power comes from an internal mastery that can become an irresistible force in the universe. However, if Scorpio cannot master him or herself, then the result is a tragic combination of harm to others and painful obstacles until the transformation occurs.

Historically, Mars has ruled Scorpio, which makes sense with the scorpion's focus on sexuality and desire. However, once Pluto came into awareness, Scorpio inherited a mixed blessing. Profound potential for transformation through facing death, loss, and the shadow aspect of themselves and humanity. When Pluto comes around, usually there is a messy wake of old psychological baggage strewn about. The planet (yes I do still refer to Pluto as a planet most of the time lol) forces us to face ugly and hard truths in order to become a better version of ourselves. We must let some things die in order for new things to birth.

The energies of the Grand Cross will still be active during the Full Moon, and Venus will be joining Uranus in the sign of Aries to give an extra flavor of love, beauty, relationships, and receptive energy. My hope is the peaceful energy of Venus will help soften the energies of the Grand Cross by reminding us of how loving others and being receptive can often diffuse conflicts.

So if you are feeling the tension of the Scorpio Full Moon, then take a moment and remember that we do not have to change in a vacuum. Ask for help and focus on those who love and support us. Remember that peace and harmony are important values, and we cannot always be fighting. Take a break from focusing on what you desire in the world and instead focus on being what you desire. In doing so, what you need will come effortlessly to you.

Concise Considerations:

  1. Intentions focused on self-improvement are recommended.
  2. Intentions focused on self-healing are recommended.
  3. Intentions focused on self-awareness are recommended.
  4. Intentions focused on removing internal obstacles are recommended.
  5. Intentions focused on healing relationships with others are recommended.
  6. Intentions focused on letting go of what no longer serves you are recommended.
  7. Intentions focused on becoming who you want to be now are recommended.
