New Moon in Aries: March 30th, 2014 at 11:45 AM PST

New Moon in Aries

Earlier this year in January we experienced two New Moons in the same month, and March will give us two more. The effect of two New Moons in a single month appears to be helping us realize the fruits of our metaphoric seed planting sooner. And now that the sun and moon are both in the sign of Aries, new beginnings are twice as likely.

Aries is the sign of the Ram and heralds the season of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere. Aries is the Warrior of the Zodiac embodied by the Fool of the traditional Tarot. Aries is the initiator and trailblazer, and the sign values courage and action. We might not know where our choices will ultimately take us in life, but Aries asks we act anyway. As a cardinal sign, Aries is associated with movement and direction. In the case of Aries, the direction is always forward.

If you recall, the first New Moon in March was in Pisces. Aries is the first sign of the Zodiac, and Pisces is the last sign of the Zodiac. In a poetic way, the first New Moon was giving you closure of one chapter before entering into the next with the second New Moon.

Moon Conjunct Uranus, Square Jupiter and Pluto

The moon will be connected to some pretty powerful T-Squares involving Juno-Jupiter-Uranus-Pluto and Sun-Jupiter-Uranus-Pluto. What does that mean for this New Moon?

Uranus and Pluto are never content with the status quo and demand change. Uranus likes change for the sake of reinvention and furthering the evolution of the self, while Pluto likes change that results from confronting our demons. Jupiter is associated with luck and knowledge, so you might find yourself inexplicably faced with what you need to change. Juno would like you to take a hard look at your serious relationships and find ways to strengthen them. The Sun would like you to take a hard look at yourself and see what you need to change with how you identify and present yourself to the world. The Moon is a bit "buddy buddy" with Uranus, so chances are you might have to go outside of your comfort zone and look at things from a different perspective to resolve the stressed energies of these placements. Remember, Aries honors bravery in the face of uncertainty, so if you want your intentions to succeed, you will have to be willing to act and take a leap of faith.

Concise Considerations for the New Moon

  1. Intentions focused on new beginnings of any kind are strengthened.
  2. Intentions focused on improving your significant relationships are strengthened.
  3. Intentions focused on refining or recreating your identity or persona are strengthened.
  4. Intentions focused on increasing your own courage are strengthened.
  5. Intentions focused on moving forward past old wounds or obstacles are strengthened.

Full Moon in Virgo - Sunday, March 16th, 2014 at 10:09 AM PST

Full Moon in Virgo

The Full Moon in Virgo is a complementary, yet polarized, shift from the earlier New Moon in Pisces. At the beginning of the month, Pisces helped us let go of unnecessary details and find healing through unity. We were offered freedom through dissolution of boundaries and differences. Now, as the Full Moon enters the analytic Virgo, we can emerge from the universal collective energies and focus on what needs our individual attention. Pisces and Virgo are both signs involved with healing, but they accomplish the healing differently. Pisces heals through careful attention to the whole while Virgo heals through careful attention to the parts. Pisces, in some ways, is less concerned with the flaws and believes we need to accept them. Virgo, on the other hand, sees the flaws easily and believes we need to heal them. The balance between acceptance and change is what these two polar opposites teach.

What needs healing in your life? What do you need to pay attention to? Very little escapes the eagle eye of Virgo, so you too must be attentive to the details that could be changed in order to help life run more smoothly. Virgo is the Quality Control of the Zodiac and desires nothing more than to make life enjoyable and peaceful for all. However, do not nitpick or over-analyze. Virgo wants you to focus on the parts that are causing the most trouble and resolve them. You must prioritize and focus on what can be changed, and then allow Pisces to help you accept the rest.

Virgo is often associated with the digestive system, so make sure you are paying attention to what you are eating as well as what other things are you putting into your body (i.e., alcohol, cigarettes). Virgo bodies tend to be sensitive to energy, so pay attention to how people and your environment are affecting you. In addition, it is the perfect time to begin spring cleaning.

Mars in Libra and Saturn in Scorpio

Mars and Saturn continue to be in retrograde. This will help you hone the energies of the Full Moon if you remember that direct action is going to be tricky. You would be best served in making changes and focusing on your own personal healing rather than focusing on what needs to be changed with others. Now is the time for inner control and healing. Do not advance alone, and be mindful of your relationships with others. With the energies of the Full Moon, you have an opportunity to see what you need to do to change in order to be of better service to the world.

Concise Considerations for Intentions

  1. Intentions focused on personal growth and healing will be potent.
  2. Intentions focused on healing relationships with others will be potent
  3. Intentions focused on organization and decluttering will be potent
  4. Intentions focused on mental clarity and creativity will be potent
  5. Intentions focused on physical health and the body will be potent
  6. Intentions focused on service to others will be potent
  7. Intentions focused on resolving conflicts will be potent.
